1965 Grand Prix 389 with tranny $250

I have a complete 389 out of a 1965 GP with the numbers matching turbo 400 automatic transmission as well. I bought this as a favor for a guy that was a friend of my friends father. He lived on the other side of the state but was losing his storage unit and needed to get the engine out. The hoist that he brought with could not be attached anywhere in the unit to lift the engine and I being a Ponitac guy was called and asked to buy it. I haven't looked at any numbers on the engine or transmission but the guy did mail me the paperwork for the car that he had. $250 sounded reasonable when I bought it and that is what I would like to get out of it. I don't seem to be able to post additional pictures; the upload keeps failing. If you would like more, please let me know. If your interested, please give me a call at (608) 792-1115.

Thanks,

Erik

Being a 2 barrel, it's probably a YC or a YD code.

What is the date code (next to the distributor)?
Thanks!

The date code is L234 which would be Dec 23, 1964 (I believe).

Thanks,

Erik

65 engine

OK, thanks anyway. I cannot use it right now. I need a J or early K block.
