67 326 HO, gloss or flat black
 

Should the single snorkel air cleaner on a 1967 326 HO Firebird be flat black, satin or gloss black ? Frank.

I beleive that a satin black finish is correct.It is what I remember from the day, and have used in my restorations. Also don't use that 326 4-V decal! That was a Buick thing not Pontiac. The decal companies are getting richer on Pontiac people that do not know the difference.

Agree. Satin gloss. A bit shinier than the engine compartment.

I'll never put that decal, you can be sure. I bought a 69 Bird 350 that had that decal. It was the first thing that came off !

when I have them refinished in powder coat I use an 80% gloss and it looks just right.
I have an NOS air cleaner to compare and its dead on.
I can do the GM info tag if you have about 4 friends that want it done.

Count me as one wanting the info label done. Maybe I should send you my pan to be restored.

This is what mine looks like, I used semi-gloss rattle can. I'd like to restore this label as well.

Cammer, can you post a pic of your NOS part?

I measured the length with a piece of tape to account for the curve.

It's 5 1/8" X 1 1/8" and the part # is 6424789 (which appears to be the correct air horn # from the parts catalog) :
