Gas Prices?

What is the price per gallon in your area? Here in SW Michigan it is $3.85 - $3.91.

Outrageous!

Western Burbs of Chicago, saw 3.99 to 4.29 for regular unleaded yesterday. I'm sure it's higher in the City

Region Warrior 08-10-2012 10:49 AM

87 octane slowly dropped from 3.99 last week to 3.80 yesterday.
Back up to 4.14 this morning.

http://www.gasbuddy.com/ is a useful website, it lists gas prices all over the US and Canada. They also have trend charts and other statistics.

Cool site. Thanks for the link! Hard for me to believe there is a 15 cent/gal variance between stations in my town, in the same county within a few blocks of eachother.

Be sure to ckeck last time each station updated!
Could be anywhere from a minute to 24 hrs or more.

New Orleans area

In the New Orleans / Metairie area...about $3.35 - $3.40 or so range on average.

I actually rarely look at gas prices..I figure it is a necessity for daily living, so I just pump it in, swipe the card and go....

Next time it will s-l-o-w-l-y drop back to 4.09 before it jumps up to 4.39.

It's kind of like climbing Mt. Everest. They are conditioning everyone to the higher prices, by going up and down the ladder, a little higher each time.
Except with Everest, the acent is slow and the decent is quick.

I travel all around SE MN and NE IA.

Wednesday the price of 89 octane was $3.59 in Mason City. Yesterday it was $3.47 when I filled up before heading home to MN.

Just checked the "gasbuddy" app on my phone (very handy app to have) and it's still $3.47 where I filled up yesterday. One station is at $3.44.

One of the things I love about the app is that I can determine where to get off the highway to buy gas. Sometimes the savings can be 10 to 30 cents per gallon over a relatively short stretch of highway.
