My 'new' Pontiac
3 Attachment(s)
I just bought an interesting Grand Am, a 74 400 4bbl, 4spd, 4dr!! It is coming from El Paso, TX and comes with all documents including the written order sheet and window sticker.
And if a 4dr 4spd isn't unusual enough, this one is Limefire Green, green interior, honeycombs, cornering lights, tilt, AM radio, H/D air cleaner and radiator and NO A/C. The nose is crumbling, but is an original. The right quarter and rear door have been repainted, but there is no rust since it has been an AZ/NM car since new. It was ordered new by a Lt Col. Can't wait to get it here. Here's a few pics I have, I'll post more when I can take them myself.. Dave |
With a New nose, dash pad, and some paint it will be excellent.

Congrats. Doubtful you will ever see another like it! Keep us posted.

Very cool find!!!
|
cool car i like the color. want a 73 4 door 4 speed to go with it???
|
I like the car but I wonder why no A/C if the car is an AZ/NM car. It gets really hot there , you think A/C would be the first thing checked on the order boxs.

Wow!
Very unique car |
Bah...you don't want that car...you need to sell it...to me (LOL).
|
VERY cool.
|
That was the same color that my '74 was originally. Damn, that sure would look nice sitting in my garage next to my Grand Am. Kind of a dream car for me, a 4 door 4 speed...and looks to be in great condition!
Congrats on a cool find....let me know when you get tired of it! |
Are you tired of it yet?
|
How about now?
|
I stepped away from my computer for a minute, where you trying to get ahold of me to let me know that you are tired of you GA?
|
haha
|
Limefire is a great color. Please tell us you'd repaint in the original color... unless you're already tired of owning it.
|
I dig that interior color combo - Vintage '70's for sure!

Thanks guys. I've been known to get tired of a car quickly sometimes, but never one I haven't got yet, LoL. Honestly, it is a bit of an experiment for me....I've always loved driving a manual trans, but with the lower back issues I've had much of my life (which have worsened as I've aged), I last had an m/t in 2006. So there is the chance I won't be able to drive it without pain.
This is only the 2nd 74 4dr 4spd I have seen, the other one was Silver with a Red int and had A/C. Yes, I will be keeping it the original color (if I own it that long, LoL). muscle_collector, please do give me more info on the 73 4dr 4spd, I like both 73s and 74s. Fake Goat, I'll keep you in mind if I ever decide to sell. Dave |
A third '74 4 door 4 speed was the donor car for the Ascot Silver SD-455 1973 GTO.
