Radio antenna

Can anyone recommend a source for a radio antenna? I'm getting a little tired of looking at that hole in the fender. I don't need NOS, but I'd like it to look more or less right.

And now, the standard question: Was the Corvair the same? I see that Clark's has repros, though they're $64.20, which seems like an awful lot of money for 3 feet of cheap steel.

I bought one on ebay and it is total junk. Requires making the mounting hole larger and still dithers around! John

Ames has the mast antenna for '63 ($99). I assume that's different, or they would just advertise it as 61-63.

I'll see how the one on my '61 parts car looks. If it's good, 10 bucks plus the ride.

Are '61 and '62 the same? I assume from your post they are.

What is the best way to remove the antenna mounting nut without tearing it up.
The antenna screwed out, but the mounting nut is very tight.
What is the trick or a tool to get the crown nut off ?

I used a brass screw driver in the grooves and tapped it off with a hammer.

Speaking of antennas.

I had a 62 parts car that had an antenna and a radio delete plate-no radio.
Please explain that one to me? Sorry for the thread high jack.

Modified length of conduit. Masking tape on nut to protect against scratches.

I have a wrench that's fits all antennas. Can't remember where I got it. Have got antennas from a guy in Fl. that worked at the place that made antennas in the day and bought there stock when they closed there doors. I heard he passed away so no sense looking up his phone number. Just find something soft that won't chip the chrome. The problem is you need the right angle at the base to match the fender so mast is verticle.

I thought about making another one that looks like what you use on grinders to attach discs or pads, but never got around to it.
