AG,

Ace at Pacific Performance Racing is the man for 350 Pontiac builds. If he doesn't know where to get that gasket you need to get one custom made.

AG,

Try and find Victor (# 3401 vc ) , it's the best I have found for my racecar & is re-useable with no-spray !!!! Can't remember what I paid for them, maybe $ 30 set...

350 Head Gaskets

I used a set of Victor Reinz head gaskets on my Pontiac 350 several years ago. I purchased them through my machine shop. Nice gaskets and they fit the cylinder better than the one size fits all Fel-Pro gaskets that are commonly available. By the way I have #16 big valve heads on the same motor and the gaskets matched the combustion chamber shape nicely.

One of the members bought a set from a GM dealer, may be same set, his user name is ho428, Gordon is his name, I was shocked......

As Donovan and others have eluded to... make sure the gasket fits the chamber AND the bore....

Very few fool around w/ Pontiac 350's, but info. is out there, thankfully there, is here... :)

dmac 10-31-2012 07:10 PM

Jegs lists one for the 350 with a 3.95 bore, but the description lists it as fitting a 4.3 liter???????? The application says 67-78 pontiac 350.

AG,

I went to Auto Zone today & they told me that the Victor 3401 has been replaced by 3533 VC under $ 45 /set... Fel-Pro # 8518PT for 350 Pont.@ $ 30 / set ... These are alot cheaper than 80-100 bucks for customized ?
The nice thing about the VC 3401/3533 is they 3.95 bore as ( shiftydr & dmac
both said ) I have been running these in my racecar for 8 years with no-problems .... Hope this helps .........

Dave,
I'll check that out, thanks for the tip.

AG 11-01-2012 09:33 AM

3533VC is not a Pontiac gasket and it appears 3401VC is not available.

ho428 11-01-2012 09:48 AM

I found a set of 3401's in an old stores system. Was bought out by Car Quest but still had some old inventory.
Also, I had a GM dealer check parts stock and found a set of GM's in the system. Probably more out there.
3401's are fiber coated type, GM's are all steel.

I've also used the standard Fel-pro set (I forget the number) that fits 400 and up without issue, you just lose some compression and quench.

DAVE RIBEIRO 11-01-2012 10:59 AM

ho428,

the Fel-pro # 1016 is a 4.300" bore, works great on 400 ci, but too big for 3.940 bore ??? Nice gasket & can be reused ...

AG,

I have ordered a set of new Fel-pro & 3533 vc for 350 ci Pontiac, well be here tomorrow ... Will let you know what I find out ???

ho428 11-01-2012 12:58 PM

If you don't have 326-350 specific gaskets and your block has the bore chamfers you have to use the larger bore gaskets or they'll overhang the chamfer and not seal.
Notice the oblong shape of the 350 gaskets in post #3, that's how big you gotta get with a circular bore gasket.

But, it's not like we have many options anymore, scrounge or use the 400+ gaskets.

Dave,

I checked on Autozone website and no 3401. I couldn't decipher what application the 3533 was for but it looked like a different bolt pattern and water hole pattern. Let me know what you get.

AG, ( update )

I went & looked at the Fel-pro & Victor head gasket this evening... You were right the Victor #3533 isn't a Pontiac gasket ? Maybe a Buick or Olds
(350 ci ) so no-good ... The Fel-pro was 4.330 bore size ( 350-400 ci ) and would be a good back-up , if you can't find a 350 bore size ... They were only $ 14.00 each, good price ... Sorry it didn't pan out , I would use the Fel-pro and be done with it ... Good Luck , hope the info helps ?
AG, where do you live in NH , my son lives in ( Candia ,NH )...

AG 11-03-2012 08:26 AM

I live next to Salem, NH so I am about 30 minutes from Candia. I looked at the 3533 and it didn't look correct. I can't believe VR stop making them.

The part number is INS71884-1 for a ROL gasket set.
