Remote oil filter kits

Where is the best place to get one for a high pressure Pontiac race motor?

I've used one from Butler for 10 years, works great.

on the circle track stuff i have been making my on, no10 braided line to filter housing of your choice. On stock blocks drill and tap for 1/2 NPT.

I use the System One mount & filter on both our race vehicles. Not cheap but also allows you to monitor your filter for engine issues.

This looks like a nice set up. I don't know anyone who has run it though.

Complete kit for $320

I gots an old remote kit with the thick gray rubber/weave lines. Is a change to 1/2" copper lines with flare fittings a wise, popular move?

I got my system1 oil filter from Summit and got the mount from Jerry Bickel,it was the same set up Aaronman runs.He always has put me in the right direction.
I figure the oil filter has already paid for itself twice now.

I would say that hard line would be a big no-no unless the filter housing was mounted to the engine directly and there was no flex to work harden and break the tube.
The other problem is that 1/2" tube is only 1/2" OD less twice the wall thickness. All of the hose is measured from the ID, and the typical-10 line is 5/8".
I know that you know this stuff, but I would hate to see anyone use hard line and eventually break it and blow oil underneath the tires.

here is the filter housing on the circle tracker. Joes HP6 series. Nice billet piece. On a couple of street remote setups I used the moroso units for the 1049 Napa filters.

I have a system 1, but I actually took it off and started running the standard K&N filter. Oil pressure seemed to be more stable during hard braking in the shutdown. I might try it again some day.

Hard braking in shut down......hmmmm let me try this...when Adam gets a win light he hits brakes hard enough to take the earlier turn around so he can get back quicker to start cooling car down...and gets so many win lights he sees oil pressure the same time his win light comes on on the gaurd rail.....?????? Am I close :)

Note to self : stay away from that ringer!!!!:D

Excellent. KNEW there were good reason to NOT do copper, just forgot, so I posted such.

Lol. I'd be a liar if I said I hadn't done that before once or twice. :)
But only when double entering... The old poncho stays pretty cool. The converter is a whole 'nother story though... Lol. The day I won my first Wally I burnt the converter up. Made it to the final in sportsman, lost on a breakout, then had to come right back around and run the last 3 rounds of pro. By the end of the day, I was dialing up about .05 per pass and having to stall the car higher and higher as the converter left the building. Lol. Not to mention, we had to steal the battery out of the dually because mine was so dead the car wouldn't start. It's days like that we remember forever... Lol
