Lakewood Blockplate
I have a Lakewood bellhousing but the guy I bought it from could not find the blockplate. I went to Lakewood site and could not find either so I called and they said the blockplate is not available. He first gave me a part number and when I asked for a price he said its not available. Does anyone know where I can find one?
Thank you. |
If you could make a template of what you need I could make one out of any thickness steel you want.
I work at a shop with laser and plasma tables PM me if your interested. |
Order a new belhousing, make a template of the plate and then return the unused bellhousing.

Me too.......
I also am in need of a block plate and have
been hoping someone would sell one. Bought the bellhousing eons ago and never got the plate - was told he'd call me when he found it........guess it was reallllly lost. Is there anyone who has one and is not using it that would "rent" it to duplicate it?? Maybe? :) |
There is a guy in here that is selling the set but doesnt want to sell just the plate which I understand. The guy I got mine from said the same thing and I cant remember his name to see if it turned up. I emailed the guy with the set to see if I could drive out to trace it out on a piece of sheet metal but havnt heard back from him either way yet. If I get it I will get it to you when done.

Smmit offered one a few years back for around $75. I think it was a Lakewood. I bought a LW bell without the blockplate on ebay about 4 yrs ago and was going to buy the plate from Summit but never did, yet.
Maybe you could call Summit to see if they have any still in stock. |

I can dig my plate out and bring it to a local shop and get a price on building some.
Once I get a price we can take a poll and see how many we need if the price is good. Vince |
Out of curiosity, is there any concern with running the Lakewood bell housing without the block plate?

In my mind as long as you have an adjustable pivot ball the clutch should adjust fine with out the plate. If you have any issues like the clutch exploding you could lose the engine also with out the protection of the plate. IMO..

without the plate your tranny would be that much further in the pilot bearing, might not matter to some. Dan

I found the plate tonight it is .135" thick. I will give the machine shop a call tomorrow and see if they can duplicate it and hopefully get a guess on cost. I am guessing it will not be real cheap but who knows!
looks like three people are interested ISBACk ddella2 70Pontiaction Vince |

If interested I could figure up a cost with .135 material or i can check our stock and see what we have close if we dont have any .135
What is a rough measurment of the outside diameter? then i can prolly figure a rough cost. I can make as many as needed, once its drawn up all i have to do is load the program and load the material and hit start LOL Could be made out of Stainless or Aluminum too, But only if more than a few are wanted in something other than steel. |
