Lost my keys 67 Tempest

actually I didnt lose them, I sent NOS keys,cylinders, ign switch to a locksmith and he claims he never got anything,UPS said it was delivered.
So Im starting over.
I have keycodes but now need the correct key blanks and ign cylinder(nos preferred)
I still have door locks,trunk and glovebox locks.


also need some help on a entry door lock thats a Best.

EDIT: I found an NOS ign switch cylinder and 2 B&S key blanks so just need key cut for the trunk and the ones for ign cut and cylinder coded.

any locksmiths in the house?

Call around all your local locksmiths and find out which ones still have keyblanks for a car as old as yours/ours. He will understand all of the oldschool key codes. I broke a key off in my door and took the pieces to a local guy and he cut the key using codes instead of copying my old key, worked perfect.

What about the lock guys at PY?

If you go to any older dealership there will be someone there who can cut the keys if you have the codes by hand. If I was still working in the dealership I can cut keys for you with a key tool just by knowing the codes as I've done it for so long. Any one at an older dealership should be able to do the same thing for you. Just find someone thats been in the parts dept. for a long time. It is very easy to do.

I have a cylinder that needs coded too

Call PY and have Paul Spotts call you back when he's got a minute.
He's pretty knowledgeable with that stuff. I have to send my locks up to him soon.

My dad lost the keys to his 72 cutlass once (later found them). But a locksmith was able to make a key for the original ignition that worked. He said the trunk lid was impossible without destroying the lock.

if you have the key codes its not a problem with a key gun
but I still need a new cylinder coded too.
If your dad could have gotten the glove box lock off the locksmith could have used a key gun to decode and replicate.

You guys are a little backwards on your thoughts , if you have the code thats the easy part to recode a lock cylinder. If you have the code all you have to do is load the waffers into the cylinder & your done then all you have to do is get the key gun & have someone cut the key to match. Having the code is the hard part, if you have that then our almost done.

My Z-28 needed ignition and door/hatch/t-top keys.
A locksmith made them on the spot on the car.....................

I spoke with Paul the other day and hes rounding all the stuff up that I dont have,NOS.
Only glitch is they dont have the special crimper to do the factory barrel type ferrule.
They use the replacement 4 tab one instead.
