Poor mans frame off resto..
 

So the pieces are starting to come together I finally got one of the last pieces finished and it came out great for a back yard job blasted with HF 100lb unit ground and sanded until my arms fell off epoxy primer last night 3 coats chassis paint this morning hope to roll it under car Tues and get going on reassembling.Under body blasted and epoxy finished with 2 coats zerorust and top coat satin chassis black all new body mounts and correct bolts. Rear end went from a 2.93 posi to a 3.26 gear complete o/h longer wheel studs installed for disc conversion.Hope to make some noise soon just to get the adrenaline pumping again my father son project turned into just dad allot of work for this ol man yeah he bought a Mopar so he's on his own haha anyway just an update..thanks to all who chimed in not done yet.

That the truth - no such thing as cheap restoration. Between the parts, tools, air compressor, paint guns and my manhours, I should of built an other house. At least I would rent the house.

I like the idea of holding the frame in the air with engine hoist.

I like that too. It's a new one on me, and it makes sense. Lots of great ideas on this forum!

Another set back never paid attention to the rear springs went to install them and discovered they were out of a 67 bwahahah WTF so off to PY to order springs going to use the vert 66 springs to raise the rear just a bit anyone need a freshly painted set of 67 springs...The eng hoist has served a multitdue of uses lifted the body up with it to set it on 4x4s..

Love it, the low-buck way represents the 'true shade-tree' aspect of this hobby!

I too used an engine hoist (2 of them in fact) to lift my body off the frame. When you don't have a hoist, this is a very safe way to go (assuming you use good attachment points (e.g. cowl, and rear bumper mounting points) and block it correctly.

I also used an engine hoist to lift the body off my ragtop. I used the seatbelt holes to attach the chains and used cinder blocks as ballast to level it out.

Looking great. All of the prep work paid off.:)

I also used cement blocks and 50lb dead weights to balance car ass heavy lol...

You got it looking pretty sharp

I had to get a little creative myself. All I had to do was drive the trailer under it to get it to the sandblaster. As we've all discovered, you figure out how to get it done with what you have.

Nice work and doing it in house. The engine crane being used to hold the frame is a great idea.

One man band gotta get creative some more bits and pieces decide to re-shoot the interior and pieces did not like the way it came back from the body shop also Amazon hose in Tampa Fla solved my brake problem..Hope to drop drive train in Tues forgot to paint drive shaft..Thanks for all the positive comments.

Some progress today dr header was a bitch by myself nothing to attatch the starter cable protector to guess I will fab one up.What do you guys think about brake line really close to header do you think it will boil the fluid.Getting there baby steps..
