2200-HP on gasoline with a Procharger?

Is this legit' on Q16 gasoline with a Procharger, or is this a happy dyno? And what of the engine moving around on that pass (look when the throttle is backed off)? Didn't seem to me like it was strapped down solid. Wouldn't this effect what the brake "sees"? |

Seeing what is required to get to this level with a turbo or roots blower on methanol, and not being savvy about Prochargers, I had to ask. Thanks for the clarification. I guess the proof in the pudding will be what kind of numbers it puts up on the board in a 1/4 mile.

I can vouch for the dyno being accurate. Never made that much but have been involved with a few cars that definitely ran the number including mine in 2004-5

I have been to Steve Morris Dyno for the "Turbo Forum's Blow-Thru Carb Shoot-Out", (all three carbed engines made over 2000 hp), Brian's testing with his F-2 Procharger Pontiac engine, Luhn Performance with the 863 HP "stocker" 455 engine. I have seen many pulls over 2000 hp there on the 572 BB Chebby Engine's with the F3-139 Belt driven supercharger stuff installed.
So I believe the number being over 2000 HP. My guess would be the 2300 number is about 125 HP High. Still a 2175 HP number would be a serious number for a 511 cid engine. I was not surprised that Steve would predict that the Pontiac engine would only make 1800 HP as he is always conservative on that stuff. Great Job by Brian H and the crew from the east coast. Brian. It's common for engines move a little on the dyno. Even street engines move that much. My engine on the 2886 hp pull rose about 2" due to the exhaust pressure and slammed back down when pulling out of the throttle. Also pushed the dyno forward a couple inches. It's on rollers. It's also common to get a spike at the end of the pull when the dyno pulls the engine back down from the preset rpm limit. Torgue link see's more pressure.

I cannot vouch for the dyno, and won't comment in that regard. However, I can say that it is well within that combination's reach to make 2300.
The 139 blower is no longer made by ProCharger, the new bad boy is the 136. And it is a bad boy indeed....I have a customer that switched from the 135 (similar numbers to the 139) to the 136, and picked up a ton of boost/power. I honestly believe that the 136 will make 2800-2900 on the right engine combination. Congrats to all involved with this project. It's going to be a runner!! TQ |

How much bigger is the snout diameter on the crank to withstand that much force from the procharger?
