Trunk Release "Green" Button
I'm looking for a green trunk release button. I've heard them called "blue-ish green," however they look plain green to me. ?
Just because I'm mostly color-blind doesn't mean i won't put up a fight. Maybe there are two colors...? Please send pics to [email protected] Thanks and thanks PY |
I might have it....will look this morning.

Yup, that"green" button looks like the correct one. Here's a pic of the same one you have HFR next to a blue-ish-green one that came off a 71 Grand Prix or Firebird. The other pic shows one mounted. It appears more aqua, however it is probably just the lighting and is the same "green" one pictured from the A Body. Anyone seen the blue-ish green one before? I always wondered why people sometimes referred to the "green" button as "blue-green." Is it for sale and working HFR? Cammer-6 -- I don't have a correct 68. let me know if you decide to sell- Thanks |
The top "green" button is correct. There were two different versions of these small "green" buttons, one with TRUNK RELEASE imprinted in white lettering around the black edge, the other with no lettering. Both styles were used in the early '70's with factory trunk release & both used same small "green" colored button (not yellow buttons).
The bottom "bluish" button is either out of something other than an early '70's Pontiac, OR it has been taken apart, carefully sanded around the circumference then painted the wrong color & put back together. Have a large amt of Pontiac factory trunk release set-ups. Early 70's Olds & Buick specific buttons to put correct 442 & GS releases together too, Been pulling & selling complete correct early GM trunk releases for nearly 30 years. |

Your button does seem more aqua than the typical "green" button in the shot. I'm sure it's just the lighting and my colorblind eyes. |
Got one.
