Father's Day gift
 

My dad has done a lot for me lately and I would really like to do something nice for him. I finally have some money of my own( i am 16) and I would like to get him something nice for Father's Day. He is nearly impossible to shop for and always says he doesn't want anything. So to the many dads here, what would be something good to get him?

Become the kind of person that makes him proud to say you're his son. As a father myself there is no better gift.

I figured I would get an answer like that haha. Any material things that you guys can think of?

I like to give "experiential" gifts vs. stuff that you get at a store

Are you baseball fans? How about tickets for two to a Phillies game ?

Not too big of baseball fans. Hockey is by far his favorite sport but: one, we already have season flyers tickets and two, the flyers ended their season early this year. Thanks for the input though. :)

The "experiential" gift idea might be something to build off of though.

If you think he's hard to shop for now, wait about 25 years.

What does he like to do? Hobbies? Hunt?, Fish? sit in front of the TV?

Basically he likes the flyers, NASCAR, and sitting infront of the tv haha. He does a lot of charity work and family is the most important thing to him.

An idea that I just had: my dad sold his harley this year and used the money to help buy the '67 firebird that we just got (the car is more for me than it is for him because the car hobby is more mine than his) I know that it was hard for him because he has loved motorcycles his whole life and I just got him into cars. So I was considering doing something to like commemorate the bike in some way, any thoughts?

Have you considered an Ipod for Dad? The best gift I've received lately was an Ipod. I've had it since Christmas and I've loaded over 800 songs. I take it to work, the driving range, cutting the grass, in the garage, road trips, etc. My next gift request will be a stereo upgrade for my Firebird so I can listen to it in my car. I can load and enjoy all the songs that my wife and kids hate, all without disturbing anyone. And I can listen to the radio or podcasts if I choose. It might be something for you to consider.

That would be a great gift, but he is not very technologically inclined, so it doesn't seem like the gift for him. Thanks for the input though!:D

There is a company I think it is in dover delaware. I don't know to be exact. But they have packages where nascar fans can drive or ride in an actual nascar car. You might want to look into that. I don't know the name of it but just an idea. Or maybe look online for any old harley davidson signs or memorbelia and make like a colage of it in a frame. If you have a garage it can be a start of a man cave lol

If he really liked his motorcycles, have you thought about taking either one of his favorite pictured of his favorite motorcyle and blowing it up and framing it for prosperity, or you take several pictures and put them as a collage and frame it. Something he can hang and look at whenever he wants to remember "the good ol' days."

On a whim, when I was 16, I bought my dad a model car of a 1967 Fastback Mustang. I knoew he loved those cars and it was even painted green (his favorite color). Little did I know, there was just a small amount of assembly required.... :o

He had never put together a model anything before and was more of a computer geek kind of person thana mechanical one... But he ended up LOVING that gift. He spent three weeks putting it together, painting it and putting it up on display. 22 years later, it is on the bookshelf in his office. I couldn't afford the real thing, so I got him a model of his favorite car in his favorite color...

Just an idea.
