1968 parchment interior dye
 

I know there is a rattle can version which matches the PUI brand interior. I have Legendary but I haven't seen or heard how much difference there is. I am also considering getting a sprayable dye so I can recolor some black pieces. I have 2 sets of parchment/white plastics but all are either too scratched or too chalked.

Should I just bring a swatch of the upholstery down to my PPG jobber and have them match it, or just bring in the old ditzler code? Does 22985 sound right?

Call Legendary. I had talked with them and they gave me the number of a paint/dye supplier they use. They said it's a dead on match to their Legendary 68 pearl color. I did talk to the supplier (was last year sometime but I have since misplaced the number)and it is a two color process. A white is applied first (great also if you are changing colors because of it's opacity) and then the pearl color. They come in pint and quart cans (use your own spray equipment). I had looked into this as I was contemplating recovering my front buckets and rear seat but wanted to keep original door panels (would then paint/dye them to match new seats from Legendary). I ended up having a side panel replaced on the driver's seat instead at a local upholstery shop so I did not need to get the dye.

Cool, thanks for the info. Do you remember the cost? I am guessing a pint would be enough to do the bucket seat plastics and armrests?

I remember it being fairly expensive. In line with what paint costs today but, as Legendary will tell you, it is a perfect match.

Ive done a few in 68 Pearl Parchment
I used PPG base(it actually has some light green in it)
and mixed my own top coat with semi gloss clear and pearl mixed in until it was right.
Looks dead on too.

Cool, sounds way out of my skill range though!
