Sanding and Prepping a Shaker
 

I want to make sure that I can sand down my shaker scoop to get it ready for paint. Or is there a special procedure? Any advice? I just don't want to mess it up if you know what I mean. Thanks

Don't get in a hurry, watch for spider webs in the shaker[[stress cracks in the 'glass] don't get too deep a grit sand paper to start out with so that you won't be digging into the scoop itself and going farther than normal or more than needed. Jim

Is 220-grit suitable?

Those shakers are made out of SMC, not plastic. I used a spray-on stripper on mine that I bought at Wal-mart and it worked fine. If you have some stripper, try it in a small are first but I think you will be good.
