Any interest in How-to's?
 

Ever since the "Sticky" was started for paint and body topics, I've had intentions of adding some how-to topics. What I didn't want to do was waste my time and the space if there was no interest.
Because I have a restoration shop, and I heavily photo document the projects for my customers, I thought maybe some members could benefit from some of the pictures and a little bit of explanation to go along with them. Not start to finish restorations like some of our members have been generous enough to share, but more along the lines of making a patch panel, rust removal, panel alignment, filler work, etc. I'm sure you get the idea. This is not Pontiac or brand-specific stuff, because I work on different cars. It just happens to be that Pontiac is of course my favorite, but they all pay the bills.
If that's something you guys think would be useful or helpful, give me some ideas on what it is you think would be good to show. Maybe the topics could be started here and then linked from the "Sticky" topic as they disappear to the following pages.

I work at a resto shop and am always interested in how other shops do things. Would be great to see if there are batter ways out there. Also would be great to know what materials you find work best and are the most cost effective.

Another forum I belonged to (Range Rover) had a complete section for how to topics. Step by step guides on how to replace heater cores, replace radios, diagnose & repair air ride suspension components etc.. Most of them even included tool type and socket or drive size.

It was an excellent resource and once you had the directions was very easy to follow.

Would love to see this happen. I am working on a 66 Tempest that needs a lot of sheet metal work, mostly patch panels and the trunk floor. I am forced to buy patch panels instead of making them because I don't have those tools or skills, but would still like to see it. Finishing the area after welding in the patch would be good too.

Always looking for good info on any subject matter with cars the body process on my restoration has been the biggest snafu of the project when you have to trust guys with situation you know nothing about any knowledge is always appreciated here look forward to your posts will we be able to request a subject matter?

I am going to be doing my 67 GTO one piece trunk floor. Seems pretty straight forward but Im sure its not. Would love to see it done by a professional.

Where would most of us be without How-to's. This hobby relies on experienced folks to guide us.
Bring on more. It's such a waste to have knowledge and not pass it on.

Please do! I'm actually seriously considering buying a welder and fixing the trunk floor, a small patch in the floor and some rust behind the fender. Also would love to see things like Endura repair and panel replacement.
