68-9 door edge gaurds
 

It seems I have 2 styles of door edge gaurds...

3 screw and 4 screw ?? I have 1 set of 4 screws I labeled 69 2 door

did they make both ?

dealer and factory ?

4 screw is factory install and 3 screw was accessory, but the 4 screw was also available as a service part. Why in the world GM did this I can't even fathom a guess

This one is a very odd one.

The 3/4 length ones (9791488 and 9791489) were mainly used in 1968 but also show up
on 69s. Seen them on as late as June 69 built cars.

The full length ones (9794499 and 9794500) were mainly used in 1969 but have seen them on later 68s.

To make things even more confusing, the door guard accessory package 984891 was listed for 68 and 69 but they show up sometimes with the full length and sometimes 3/4 length inside.

Basically it comes down to if you have an original car, how many holes are in the door?

There was a thread on this not long ago, Do a search for more info, Mine has 3.
