Four goats only
 

Anyone remember Four goats only? I think the guy's name was Rod Folsom. Was in California as I recall. Had tons of nos Pontiac/GTO parts. I bought some from him years ago. Always thought the prices were on the high side but I had no complaints about the quality. Wonder if he is still around?

He's in Glide, Oregon, still sells on ebay as 4goats1964.

Yes, I still have a catalog somewhere. I bought several things from him. I still have an NOS rally guage circuit board in the original GM package. But it is apparently reproduced now.

He had tons of NOS stuff! And he know how to value it!

He only had four Goats? Strange name.

I have no idea how he came up with the name. I don't know if the "four" was to be a play on words instead of using "for".

Don't know how many knew him but I always enjoyed talking to the guy. He was a retired GM parts counter guy that had stockpiled tons of GM parts for GTOs, F-body and many many others.

Anyway, Rod passed away just about a year ago. Here's his obituary. Barely mentions his passion for cars, but you all know how that goes.

We looked at his "collection" a few weeks ago. Really hard to tell what all he had but what I saw looked impressive. All has been bought including most of the cars. Do not think he was a counter person, at least that's what his son told us.

So he and his wife passed together? Car accident? Anyone know the details?

Jerry, actually know a lot. Rod fell 25' from a ladder or scaffolding onto a concrete floor in the building he was building and was found the next morning by his helpers. His son told us the building has an open building permit 22 years old and believe it is still open, building was not finished when we saw it. Son said Rod had used 18000+ cinder blocks in building it. Wife was in an assisted care home and passed away a week later. Pretty sad all in all.

It does say he was a mason which ties in with the cider blocks. I'm not sure where I got the parts counter guy, probably thinking of someone else. Last time I had talked to him was April 2016 and he passed in July 2016. Very sad indeed.

Cider blocks? I thought only Portland was weird. LOL. And actually you'd never believe how/where he got most of the 64 parts from. I know if I ever can't spell a word right, I'll get my bu?? kicked all the way to Norwalk and back.
