76 Grand Prix Exhaust
 

The rear part of my 76 GP single exhaust was removed from the car just behind the muffler by the previous owner. I have found a GP with this exhaust in a self-service junk yard. The system is welded all the way though, so I can't get it off from under the car.

Are these exhaust systems available with the exact curves needed, to go over the rear axle if I take the car to an exhaust place? - Or, should I try and hacksaw the parts off the junkyard car? They are in good condition.

Sounds like you need a tail pipe. If you buy the one from the junk yard you can get a chain cutter that will cut off that welded pipe very quickly and straighter than a hack saw. :) Then maybe a exhaust pipe union with clamps or have the tail pipe welded to your muffler. :)

Thanks I followed your advice and rented a chain tailpipe cutter from Auto Zone. It worked great, and the pipes were almost like new. Unbelieveble after 37 years...

Glad to hear it worked out and you saved some cash in the process. :) Nothing better than OEM exhaust pipes since they have to meet a 10 year emissions cert.:)
