Internet Explorer 10 issue
 

So, I "upgraded" from IE 9 to IE 10 a couple days ago. Now, when, for instance, I right click on a post here, and click "Open in new tab" from the drop down menu, it opens a new tab, but nothing ever shows up in it. I played around with some Internet Options settings, but nothing brought it back to how it worked with IE9. Same deal with Facebook and other forums I frequent.

Windows 7 Pro 64. MS Security Essentials. If I roll back to IE 9, it works like it should.

Any ideas for me?

Oh, on a positive note, with IE 10, these forums don't log me out every 10 minutes...

I hated IE 10 so I went to Comodo Dragon and have never looked back---love it.

Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, less issues with security.I only use Exploder for windows updates cause we have to!

So you want to stay with IE 10?

I kept the IE 10 but use the Chrome/Comodo as my default. Every once in a while I can't open something with Comodo so I go the IE 10 to open it but this only happens once or twice a month. If I knew how to adjust the Comodo better I wouldn't even need the IE 10.

I made the switch a couple years ago from IE. Wondered why I didn't do it sooner.

I've learned that using IE is almost the equivalent of using AOL or WebTV. (Preferred by Luddites.) Of course; I do prefer carburated cars with power nothing, no ABS, traction control, etc...

Hah! I use AOL sometimes, too. So, I may be the 1 guy in the world that (usually) likes IE... But that's me.

I've tried Chrome and Firefox, and just don't like either one of 'em.

I've also heard some people still use carburetors!

When it comes to our browsers, they are just like our trousers. You like what you've been using for years. Its hard to make the switch.

I switched to Firefox a few years ago. It was a hard change for me to make but now when I open IE, I wonder why I ever used it. Give it another chance.

I use Firefox with plain ole Google as my home page. No toolbars or extra crap.
To tell you the truth, I don't even realize that I'm using FF. It's just there and it works.
That's enough for me.

If you're set on using IE, type in your problem in a Google search, chances are someone else has/had the same issue that you have.

IE is only good to download a better browser.

I was extremely reluctant to switch from IE because it had served me well for quite a while. I mentioned this to a friend that is more computer savvy than I am and he recommended Comodo and Mozilla.
Chris65LeMans mentioned the Luddites and That's where I feel that is WAS.

I use IE, Chrome and FF. Older computer, still on XP. Kinda funny. I start out with one and sometimes it will take too long to load up a page. I open another browser and the same page loads instantly. Shut down first browser, till the one I'm using is slow to load.
I could do all my forum surfing on a site while the first browser is still loading.

Wow, I considered myself pretty computer savvy, but I never even heard of Comodo.

Got away from IE a few years ago and have been using Chrome ever since.

The way it was explained to me it's a stripped down version of Google Chrome and is faster since it doesn't have all the extra's of Chrome.

IE 10 is not compatible with many websites. I've had to it on several computers and went back to IE9. Here's how: Go to start, type programs and features, choose it in the list, a list of updates pops up, scroll down under Windows, right click on IE10 and uninstall. Then restart your computer. You will have to change the settings on your windows update to manually install updates instead of automatic.

That's what I ran up against and asked myself if it was worth it. My answer was NO, NO, NO!

I went back to IE 9 last night, and now that particular issue is gone. The times I tried Chrome or FF, I found those to not be compatible with lots of web sites... but that was several years ago. I may look into some other browser... but probably not:smash:

Dude,please listen up. IE9 is full of security holes. That's why they updated to IE 10...
Get Firefox or chrome!
internet explorer is used for Windows updates only!

Have not tried it,seems legit. But I trust the Open source Firefox. ;)
