Doyle Republic..show?
I was flipping the the channels on the idiot box....and stumbled on a show that really sucks..i mean a really dumb detective story...Private Dicks..ya know...and there it was a Turquois 68 GTO...red lines ralley IIs....wow..looks cool..
show still sucks...but neat car.. |

It's called "Republic of Doyle". It's a CBC show and it's shot in around our city, St. John's , Newfoundland. I think they just finished shooting season four just last month or so. I do know that there are three cars. However, I have heard two are GTO and one is a LeMans conversion. I have seen some of the shows, but it is more for the car, and not the plot, which I know can sometimes make you cry. However, most people who have seen it seems to love the scenery. We are in a city at the most easterly point of North America on an island in the Atlantic. Everything here is different than a lot of other places, including the
weather, food, music, and the dialogue............most people can't understand what we say. |

I cringe when I see cars like that in modern TV & movies; it's probably not going to end well for the car.

I never heard of the show before until about a month ago when I posted a picture of my GTO on a Pontiac Facebook page. Someone posted "Republic of Doyle" under the picture. I had no idea what he was talking about so I Googled it and found the show.
