I saw that awhile back as it stalled $300 from BTN? Someone doesnt want to hit the button that bad? Owner really want 123K too because it hasnt met reserve. Crazy if thats the case and not reality.

My internet is too slow to see the pics
Does it have the invoice posted ?

Title reads like Jeremy's 69 Fbird Test Car almost

1970 GTO 455 H/O RAM IV WHITE/RED INTERIOR 1000% RESTORED CO-PO CAMPAIGN CAR

I'd like to see that invoice

bigborehunter 03-10-2014 04:18 PM

Remarkable considering the wrong year mirrors were installed...and in the wrong place.

Does 1000% restored mean that it was 100% restored 10 times?! Or maybe 50% restored 20 times?

goatless 03-10-2014 05:04 PM

Okay, someone help me out here- what am I missing on this story?

"This GTO was previously a campaign car for Pontiac, also known as a "CO-PO", touring dealerships in order to promote Pontiac's GTO which makes this car such a collectible....

I also have the documents providing the vehicle's remarkable history including a list of dealerships in which the car was showed at."

Why would Pontiac ship a production GTO around to various Pontiac dealers to "promote" the GTO, when those dealerships would already have GTOs sitting on their lots for sale? And I won't even touch the COPO thing. :D

mess1153 03-10-2014 05:09 PM

I'm just trying to figure out who won't suck it up on the last $300 at this point. Almost looks like there is a ghost bidder that knows the person with the car that is driving the price up to the point of sale. Looks fishy

JLHarper 03-10-2014 05:10 PM

Listing smells, but they usually they go for the deposit, or a buy it now deal.

Kind of pricey with little info....whats the angle?

The Boss 03-10-2014 06:22 PM

Somebody should have checked box 601 on the order sheet, oh & 422.

I like the car, great colors, the 455HO, A/C & drop top don't hurt either! ;)

Yep unless they have trees without leaves in Ft. Lauderdale.

Baron Von Zeppelin 03-10-2014 06:53 PM

Thanks for the invoice John . :)
I'm sure its a super sharp car by you guys comments.

Build date 11B - shipped to the dealer 11-14
No ties to PMD on invoice

455 Convertibles were rolling out in Sept 69
seller might be related to Jeremy

Orion88 03-10-2014 11:10 PM

He also states that it's a big block car from the factory... but Pontiac only had one block back in those days from 326 up to 455, so technically there is no big/small block from Pontiac. That was all Ford/Chevy. Also why does it have 69-style Judge-like stripes?

goatless 03-10-2014 11:45 PM

Yes, the big block thing is an easy tip off that the seller is not a Pontiac guy.

The '69 style stripes were optional on the 70 GTO and came standard on the '70 GT-37.

Baron Von Zeppelin 03-10-2014 11:50 PM

You could get those stripes on a 70 GTO as an option (D98).
They weren't ordered on this one - but they go nice with its color combo.

Maybe the co dealer or the po dealer put them on it during that campaign

hobi 03-11-2014 05:00 AM

D98 STRIPE

Baron maybe he got it from THE HO DEALER JUST MAYBE explains it.

Baron Von Zeppelin 03-11-2014 10:37 PM

a good possibility there Hobi

But wonder if he really meant it was a MO-FO campaign car

Ever since that beat up looking 63 Tempest sold on eBay .... seems like more and more folks want their car to have a special story too . And a special price... just in case.

bajagold70 03-12-2014 09:21 AM

Seller has 0 feedback ..hmmmmm

That's a lot of coin . Nice restoration and colours but it always amazes me how people
Get so close on high end cars and screw up . Wrong tires, wrong mirrors, wrong deck lid decal ....but I would love that car !!

Cerberus 03-12-2014 11:55 AM

The bidder history looks fishy, too...............

pggto 03-13-2014 12:44 PM

Could you even get a D98 stripe on a convertible?
