what will my old worn out eheaded engine make NA
Have a date set to dyno on april 2.
Changes Ports are .220 wider pretty much all the way slight increase in valve size to 2.275 from 2.25 intake valve switched to ti intake swap from a real nice victor to an even nicer massaged bop. Much larger maybe .4 to .5 of a point more compression belt drive The rest is the same as last year what say you? BTW a note to johnta1 and Stan....please try and think through your responses before you post. I know its hard and you really want me to slow down or somehow fail. But to keep this thread clean understand in advance that 1300,1200,1100 and likely 1050hp are not likely lifting the valve .780 with a bracket set up. Additionally it will be tempting to say 850, but that will only make you look bad. If you truly are interested and have additional questions I will respectfully answer them. If not flame away. |
Same dyno as last yr? Last yrs dyno # and peak rpm? Track reflected Wht hp number? I already have a guess :)

I'm going there for the expertise on the bes staff and not the highest number printed on paper possible. If I were I would seek out a known loose dyno. |

That being said, what ever the number is that Tony's Dyno prints, I would say is a good number (in the dyno racing game). I will say 1064 HP. Tom Vaught ps Roots style Superchargers are "Displacement" devices. They displace a given volume per revolution. So they are basically a "Governor" for airflow into the engine. You run a supercharger of a given displacement per revolution at a given speed and depending on the density of the outside air, you get a given mass flow (horsepower). As long as George never changes the blower rpm, the mass flow will stay in a given range. So the reported Boost Number means little vs the HP output. Pressure Ratio (Boost) will change vs the engine displacement the supercharger is attached to but the mass flow into the engine sets the HP potential. |
1000-1050 hp should be reasonable. It's hard to say what it will make without more details on the intake areas. The bigger intake valve should help when saddled with the .780" lift cam. Good luck man!

Other posts indicate you may be trying to make sure to exceed 1000... got a feelin you'll cover that... for now I think you stay under 1030. This dyno session steers you to what changes are needed to better KK's ol' 499 track power. More interesting to me will be how it reacts to new intake... and carries power.
BW's wag method says 1015 +/- 1.5% corrected if the dyno isnt on top of a mountain in the middle of a thunderstorm. .780 is net lift?? You bein stingy or Scott provin his stuff? I like the idea. |
