69 Firebird Stacked Gauges Not Working

I bought a set of the repo stacked gauges off Ebay a few years back and I have got them installed and all of them are pegged. The lights for the pods all work well and all all dash lights work. Fuse for gauges is good. I ran a wire from the ground on the back of the WT gauge directly to the body..... no change

Gas Gauge * New Sending Unit
* Checked all wiring and grounds
* Grounding out the tan wire in the trunk does not make it move
* Test light attached to tan wire and ground has no power
* Sometimes with key off the needle will drop to half tank otherwise
pegged to the right

Oil Pressure Gauge * New sender unit
* Blue Wire has power at sending unit unit
* Gauge is and has always been pegged to the right

Water Temp Gauge * New sending unit
* Disconnecting alt has no effect
* Pegged to right

This was supposedly a new set with the circuit board, tach, and gauges. Nothing appeared to be burned or even installed. Is there a way to check the gauges without pulling them back out? Any help appreciated
