Restorer/Mechanic in NYC
Buying a 1969 Judge. I live in NYC (Queens County).
I am looking for a reputable GTO mechanic and/or restoration shop in my area. Does anyone know any shops? James |
Hey Greek. another Greek here in Cleveland. Have plenty of pros here in Cleveland, some of the best in the country} if you ever decide on some extensive work. may actually be worth the expense of shipping it here if no options pop up.

Old Stillwater Garage in Stillwater, NJ. The owner is Lou Calisabetta, who is real nice guy and well known in the Pontiac and custom hobby. Might be a little bit of a ride from Queens, but since he's a little out in the boonies, prices are reasonable.

Hi. Thank you for replying. I have a 1970 GTO Judge Hardtop. Palomino Copper. It is missing the black cordova top. It is missing the reverse lockout linkages. It is probably missing other things as well that I did not notice.
I am in Whitestone (Queens County). Thank you. Please email me [email protected]. We should exchange some pictures. James (917) 443-3099 |
bumping this long ago thread as i'm looking for (sort of) the same thing.
need a good repair/resto shop in north NJ for my '68 firebird 350 convertible. engine blew on me last weekend. will likely need a rebuild, maybe new engine. greekgoat, if you're still 'round these parts, who ended up working on your judge? any other recos for north/central jersey? would need to flatbed her there, so has to be (relatively) local. have found sites on the web for a bunch of places - netcong auto resto, nostalgia motors, tri state auto resto, muscle car alley, old stillwater garage, premier restorations, hibernia restorations, a few others - just hard to find any meaningful reviews or feedback. |
NYC Area Shop
I never did any work to my GTO.
Have you found a reputable shop? |
|
I saw a car they did that took 2nd in the Riddler Award, Foose beat them but had 10 times more money into his restoration.
I was at the shop, nice cars and all different stages of restorations. Nut and bolt to driver quality. Fixes a lot of internet cars people buy with out looking at. |

He does engine bay clean ups to full ncrs nut and bolt details. Nick is his name. He used to be apart of Unique Corvettes, then when moved to Florida, he branched into this. He has been around a long time doing what he does.
Good luck! |
