VA Hospital car show
 

There's a car show at the VA Hospital in North Chicago on Saturday, July 19. Registration begins at 11 am -- but early arrivals are expected -- and the show ends around 3. I spoke to the contact person, Ken List, and he said that the staff brings patients down to check out the cars at about 1. He said that they don't advertise a lot, but all car folks are welcome. This is the 11th year for the show. I'm surprised I had never heard about it before. The hospital entrance is on the east side of Green Bay Rd., just south of Rte. 137 (Buckley Rd.) Given the latest issues with veteran care, I think it is well worth the ride if you can make it. Ken's contact number is 224-610-3714.
