wiw 1970 core support

Just curious what a super clean support is worth?

The Boss 06-25-2014 07:13 AM

I'll start the bidding at $200. ;)

RAJ7395 06-25-2014 05:31 PM

Depends on how long you've been looking for one :)

My guess is ~$750-$1000 for a real nice one as they are damn hard to come by.

FASTASSBIRD 06-25-2014 05:38 PM

Oh the two I have are SUPER nice and clean. It's actually hard to decide which one is nicer to keep for my formula.

The Boss 06-25-2014 05:42 PM

Sounds like I'm low. Worth a try. ;)

I think it's like RAJ said if you've been looking and really need one then it might be worth that. Idk that's why I asked. I'm sure it also depends in what your building. I've also learned it's only worth what someone that day is worth paying for it. I just want an idea before I list it for sale

70-72 Core Supports

The reproduction 70-72 core supports are as low as $285 with shipping. Has anyone seen one of these Goodmark supports? Are they any good?

70 core supports are one year only so while the reproductions probably fit, it's highly unlikely that they are visually correct for the 70 model year.

Repros are based on the 71 support, which is different.

I purchased a nice one from CA with the EEC setup and other hardware attached, for $100 a couple of years back (+ $50 to ship). They almost always need work at the frame mount holes.

FASTASSBIRD 06-25-2014 11:02 PM

These need no work. Have been hanging on a wall since 1990. I will post pics as soon as I can get home with enough time and light to get good ones.

edvisme 06-26-2014 05:00 PM

I have an original '70 core support for a bird. The mounting holes for the frame horns are rotted out. Other than that, it is in very good condition. What would this be worth?

70 core support

I guess on the 70 van nuys cars, the support different, than Norwood built, due cali charcoal canister?

roundportponchos 06-27-2014 12:19 AM

70 Norwood support

I also have a 70 Norwood support, a little work needed around bushings. I would sell if a board member needs it.

The Boss 06-27-2014 07:33 AM

What about a 76 dated one in near NOS condition? What's the going rate on these?

FunctionalShaker 06-27-2014 04:53 PM

On the "Core Support Filler Panel" thread, post #24 has pics of differences, but It doesn't appear to be a VN vs Norwood issue.

The 70 core support was a one-year-only part and there was no difference between Van Nuys and Norwood cars. The only difference was that cars sold new in California (regardless of which plant they were built in) had the evap canister, whereas the 49 state models did not.

Core support

Oh. I thought, maybe, since it had evap.. it would be difficult. As Norwood cars didn't have canister
Thanks for clarification

roundportponchos 06-27-2014 10:59 PM

70 judge

The 70 raiv judge, is a freemont , built. It does not have canister, as it was Sold new in southern Colorado

Here's the pic I was referring to. The core supports are different if the baffle was used.

'ol Pinion head 06-28-2014 08:59 AM

some clarification...
with baffle & w/o baffle, with spotwelded on '70 EEC bracket or not, wouldn't that make 4 different '70 V8 Bird coresupports???
