Battery Hold Down

What was used on the battery hold down bolt to secure the top clamp? Was it a washer with a wing nut, a washer with a separate hex nut, or a flanged hex nut with no washer?

OK, I am officially looking for a 5/16" flanged hex nut for the battery hold down. I have checked all the parts suppliers and cannot find one. I found a couple at Home Depot and Tractor Supply, but the flange is way to small. Does any one have an original in their junk pile or on a parts car?

Dang I could have brought you one at the Natz, I have a box of them. I put a plastic washer on there too to prevent the nut from digging into, the rubberized coating.

Thanks Burd, it's not too late. I've been busy trying to get the heads, intake and cam lined up with SDPerformance and haven't ordered a nut from AMK yet. Add one to my shopping list and send it with the rest of the stuff once you figure out the price. Thanks again.

What's the part number on that plastic washer?

Do you have any J hold down bolts? I'm using a spare tire aftermarket one that's too long
