Radio?
 

I am getting to the point where I want to replace the missing radio in my Bird.
I do not want to cut dash, so it must be a direct bolt in deal.
What are you guys using, and what speaker combo?
I only have speakers spots in kick panel currently and don't know if I want to
add the rear speaker at this point. Just looking for a basic FM radio with a few
presets.

I can't remember the name exactky, I think crutchfield carries it, and I have seen it praised at Team Camaro, but there is one that looks fairly original, but has Bluetooth, USB and other modern stuff and fits in the factory location. Someone will probably know what its name is....

I had this guy do the conversion on my AM radio for my tempest. I plan to have him do my FB as well.

That aftermarket radio that looks just like stock I think runs north of $600.
The Custom Autosound is a direct fit and digital and well under $400

The FM conversion is a little over $400.

As Far as the converted radio I got. I'm pretty happy with it. You may not want the AM face but for me Its one of the things I like. I don't want someone looking in the window and seeing a pricey AM/FM. I got mine 25Watt X 4 and use a single under dash speaker they recommended. I have the Aux input in the back though it doesn't seem to want to work with my Samsung phone very well. Works great with a I-phone. With that much wattage the volume is very sensitive. I like that the push buttons still work. It also has a aux power source that I have connected to my power antenna. Can also be used for amp.

I have use both that Dual Kenwood speak setup and the single cone with dual coils that they sell for the under dash speaker and neither are very great in my opinion. If you not picky about getting to loud or having any base then its fine. You just can't fit much of a speaker under there and expect great sound IMO.

Kickpanel speaker and rear deck speaker are the Way to go.
