rohrt 10-20-2014 03:05 PM

Where the burnout pic????

Very nice and detailed. So that is what the dual belt setup looks like.

What is the hood switch for? Under hood light I assume?

Tempest 10-20-2014 03:33 PM

very nice, keep the pics coming

SWEET!

Tom V.

Have them put a oversized top on the car and in a few years when it shrinks some you will not have the bow upward at the door opening.

Awesome Brody.

BOB VIDAN 10-20-2014 06:34 PM

Very nice Brody, can't wait to see the end product. rohrt, dual belt system is 1st design on early 64's.

throttle cable

bv,

From your pic the throttle cable looks nice & straight from the firewall to the bracket. Mine curls up and then down to the bracket. No matter how much I lube it it's balky and stiff. The liner is in good condition but there is just too much friction. Is your cable original or a repop, if repop where did you buy it? I'm tired of fighting mine.

best regards

bill ryder 10-23-2014 10:19 PM

Hi GTO Ron, From past posts on this subject, I will bet your cable is for a 4V. They are 1 inch longer than the 3X2 cable. I am surprised Ron Cuzzo has not already posted this. He fought the same problem during his resto. the 3X2 cable is 17 3/4 and the 4V is 18 3/4. Also the plastic cable cover at the carb end should be a grayish color, not blue or red. Hope this helps. "Bill"!

I don't know the details of Brody's cable, but the reason it looks so straight in that picture is because the throttle cable bracket isn't bolted to the intake yet.

Do you have more pics of the engine bay you could share?

Wow. Such a nice car. Wow!

Hey, there's one angle/view of the engine bay that I was interested in and of course it's the one that's unclear (shaky hands I guess LOL). No rush at all, but if you have a better shot of this angle (passenger side area) I'd love to see it. I'd like to get my wiring cleaned up and looking a bit closer to stock. THANKS!
