Brake bleeding
I just installed new brakes, rotors and one new caliper on the rear of my ford super duty, after bleeding a quart through the rear the brakes work but feel very spongy and soft, never had a problem bleeding before but this one isn't cooperating with the norm. Any ideas

Since I started using a plate like this, and a low pressure regulator from Harbor Freight, $10.
http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles..._bleeding_kit/ Most recently did a complete new system on a 70 Blazer without even bench bleeding the master cylinder. Five minutes and done with only about 2 teaspoons of wasted fluid. Pedal like a rock! Has been this way for me since the early 80's. |
My F250 has always had a somewhat spongy feel to the brakes unless I truly need them, then they get hard as a rock and stop the truck quite effectively. I'm not sure how normal that is though, I've not ever driven a modern car or truck for very long.
