A lot of drivers out there don't need hardly any HP to total a car out. I have seen diesel Wabbit pickup trucks smashed beyond repair in "single car" accidents. Somehow people manage to find ditches with Priuses and such.:2cents:

When I was 16, I crashed my first car a hour after buying it. Halfway through a left turn in the rain, I grabbed second gear and stepped on it.

Survived with just a nick on the rim, although the positive battery cable popped off and killed everything until I popped the hood and found it. Sure gave me a scare...

I talked with a guy that worked at a Pontiac dealer in 65. He told me they had front clips in popular colors ready to install? Don't know how much truth there is to his story, but I believed him.

Body wise yes, but the original pic out at the crash site looks like the motor copped a pizzlin (Aussie slang for smashed). And if so, could have destroyed the rest of the drive train. Don't know what the cost component is in that motor and ancillaries.

Only old men can afford such car, then they drive as they still have the skills as when they were 18......

That was a sign! Whether or not somebody else was in the car, somebody was riding shotgun with you that day! ;)

700 HP on street tires is just an accident waiting to happen, this won't be the last one to be totaled due to heavy foot and light head. I'd hate to see what the insurance premiums will be in a year or so for these cars.

How about selling it on ebay?
