Wrinkled divider panel??
 

While doing some rear inner fender repair on my 64 Tempest I noticed the divider panel was wrinkled pretty bad. I thought at first the car had suffered a collision at some time but nothing else looks disturbed. Quarter panel, inner and outer wheel house, and floor all look factory and no signs of accident damage. Could this panel have been damaged before it was installed?

It looks like someone hammered it for clearance at some time. Maybe they couldn't get the back seat back in place and thought this area was interfering.
