Trunk Release
I know I don't have a shot of winning this, but I sure would like to have someone repo them. My 64 came with it, but there was nothing left of it but some pieces of the cable in the trunk.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/321627721340...2.M6133.R2.TR8 What's a fair price, and I still need a drivers side fender if you have one laying around. |
How bad do you want it? My guess at the end $400+
|
Got to love the way the seller has the '64 LeMans trunk release listed as '64, 65, 66, & '67...
typical eBay huckster smoke. |
Tiemann had a maroon 65 at Dayton in 2013. He said it was the only one he had ever seen in working condition. John, I think it will go for more than $400!!! "Bill!"

I think there was one on ebay at one time for $900.
|
See if Bill Merrick has any of those left. He bought a complete one I had many years ago and was going to try and repop them.

Bid $850 and you stand a good chance of winning it
|
For $850 I think I could invent something that will look pretty similar. We'll see, I have lots of things I need to do before I can consider addition something like this.

At the end of the day what did the Dash Trunk Release really buy you? 1) Had to open the Glove Box with the key to pull the cable release. 2) If you left the Glove Box Lock open then anyone could jimmy the door lock button with a coat hanger, pull the cable release, and get the stuff from your trunk. 3) Simple to just lock the car and the trunk and not give the thief a easy shot into the trunk. And to think I took one out of a 65 convertible I was restoring back in the 80's and threw it away!

That's where a lot of our rare parts went!!! "Bill"!

$987.77

WOW, John. A Merry Christmas for the seller and buyer!!! "Bill"!
