Got this radiator for the '69 Grand Prix . 4-core and it's a really nice piece. $265.00 on ebay.

Greyno3, have you tried the radiator? If so, any comments on the before vs. After? I have a 442 that runs real hot and hope this might be a good solution. Thanks, tom

I just ordered one for my 67 FB. I am currently running a 2 core Summit aluminum rad, and something is not up to the task. I've done about everything else. Besides, I've got too much munge inside the one I have. I want to start with a clean slate, so this looks like a good start. I'll let you know how it works. I plan on changing nothing else, so I will have only a single variable comparison.

Radiator has arrived, will install today. Should have data to report soon on Summit 2 core vs. Champion 4 core. This radiator is a nice piece. Greyno3, thanks for bringing this brand to my attention. I hope it works to cure my cooling ills.

Not trying to hijack. Thought some performance review of their stuff would be relevant since your thread led me to buy one.:)

Another vote for the Champion! Installed it last night, and drove it today. 8 miles on the highway at 3000 rpm, even ran the a/c. Never got over 175 (not running a stat), and that was when I pulled off the highway waiting for the off-ramp light to turn. Outside air was in the 70's, so we'll see if Champion is still the Champion when it gets 110+ this summer.

glad to hear it helped. i have the 3 row in a 72 firebird, running a fresh 500+hp stroker with e-heads & it keeps it right at the 180 of the t-stat in 90+ degrees for highway cruising for an hour+ to sitting in traffic to 10 runs at the dragstrip. when i had a bad t-stat stuck part way open, it wouldnt even get to ~170.

however i do have a good aluminum water pump, factory shroud, clutch fan, & clearanced water pump plate. a beffy radiator is just a band-aid if those things are correct.

I haven't installed it yet. I hope very soon though!!

i have one of these Champion Rads ready for my build. Given that the original rad was missing and core support rotted out, i cant see exactly how it fits back in.

I see on the new one there are two small slots on the bottom left and right, and no other mounting holes brackets etc. i assume it will sit on the original insulators which i will need to find, but it must be secured somehow. Any help would be greatly appreciated in how yours fiited in etc.

The radiator sits on the lower rubbers and is held in by the top rubbers under the top fan cover . So its not really bolted in as such just held between the two rubbers . Scott T will be able to help source the parts you need ( bolts for lower insulator bracket / lower bracket / both sets of insulators / top fan cover ( big part ) so shipping will be high on this one

Since my last post I did some cruising around town with temps in the 90's. I was finding temps creeping up again at cruise, and going just over 200. At idle it would cool down.

I decided to replicate my buddy Mike's setup (Hayden 2797 severe duty clutch, 19" factory fan, and repro stock shroud).

8 miles on the highway at 3k rpm, and it stayed at 175. This time it was 85* out. Now I see temps drop when I start getting up to speed, and the only temp creep I get is a few degrees when stopped at a stop light.

We'll see how things work when it gets over 100 in a couple of weeks.

Ahhh, i get it. Thanks Craig. I guess then the nice chrome rad top will be covered up a fair bit then. Might have to come and see your car one of these days. Dave
