Grand Prix rear seat
Does anybody know if a 65 G/P rear seat backrest....with folding armrest... will fit a 64 G/P?
|
I would doubt it.

Just a thought,
Do '64 Olds, Buicks etc have a suitable rear seat with an arm rest? If so, maybe you can get your Pontiac upholstery adapted to fit? I only say this because I had a '65 Buick front seat with a centre arm rest. A good friend of mine has a '60 Belair sedan here and his seat was shot. He had a good upholstery guy re-trim the Buick seat using Chev upholstery. The result is great plus he has a fold down arm rest in the car now Ian |

I wouldn't try to get a '65 GP backseat to fit in a '64. The full size platform for GM cars changed in '65 and the wheelbase, width, etc. are different. It would be much easier to get a '64 GP backseat from another '64 GP. Shipping may be expensive (I see that someone in FL offered one for sale in a reply above). You occasionally see '64 GP backseats for sale on Ebay, but shipping will probably be expensive too. You always keep checking Craigslist and see if you can find one locally. Good luck!

What about a 64 bonneville rear seat upper section? I have one in my garage with the rear armrest. Wouldn't that bolt right in to a GP?

Yes, only difference is the cover on the GP and BVs.. '62-64 are the same frames and dimensions.. '61 seat back is taller by about an inch and a half..
