I recently bought a 2002 trans am ws6 blk/blk, leather with hurst 6 speed and just over 400 miles on the odometer. I sold my 75 Trans Am to do so. I can say 4th gen WS6 cars drive like a dream and have looks like nothing else out there (I see them hold their own and win against newer Camaros, Mustangs, and Challengers at car shows around here.
A collector's edition is very limited (the production numbers are posted under the above posted link), with convertibles being rarer. It came with unique badging and paint. The collector edition cars, 99 anniversary cars, and some 2002 Ws6 cars are actually going up in price depending on condition and options.
If it is modded you can expect the value to be lower. If you buy it you won't regret it unless it is heavily modded or in poor condition.
