70 metal valence WIW?
 

This valance was damaged on one side but has been repaired. It was originally installed on a 70 Firebird. Value?

With the backside looking like it will bubble through, if you get $100.00 , you'll be doing well.

Of the top of my head....because of the fact that is HAS been worked on...prolly worth about the same as a re-pop.....maybe slightly LESS...........

There is no rust on this piece.

In MY experience....with vintage used body parts....parts that have been repaired...which is USUALLY visible on the backside....do NOT command nearly as much $$$ as ones that are unworked CLEAN originals.......even though repairs are NOT visible once installed....

x2. I suspect most would rather know what the issues are and are skeptical of repairs made by others. Around here you can find nice ones for $100-150 if you're patient.

The backside looks like undercoating over a bumpy mess, then painted with lucy..If the top needed that much filler, I wouldnt go near it without stripping it to bare metal myself, at which point I would buy a repop. Honestly the backside can tell about the front, and it doesnt look good. IMHO. Just saying it like it is. I have a bunch of these in various stages

What I would do with something like that: Figure out the minimum I'd be willing to take for it that it would be worth my time to box and ship it. Put it on eBay with no reserve at that starting price, really good pictures/description (your pictures are good) and enough of a shipping cushion to fully cover packaging and shipping, and see if I get any takers.

And if it doesn't sell, it would go into the scrap metal pile.

My sense is unless you get lucky and find someone with a driver quality '70 - '73 bird with shiny lucerne blue paint and a bent up front valance panel... that part would go in the scrap pile.

I don't think I personally could ever scrap a part like that. I'd prefer to give it away first.
Do to commonality and the repops this one doesn't seem to be worth much. Given todays body work costs if I were looking for one Id prefer to find a nicer one and pay more. That said its not worthless but looks to have had a lot of work done to it.

Agree, give it ago on ebay.

It's TOTALLY worth $100 to ANYBODY that has a driver /cruise-in quality 70-72 LB Formula or T/A....

There are MANY different "levels" of cars out there....

One man's JUNK is another mans TREASURE....

Thank you for the replies everyone. I will try to sell it on ebay. If not, I'll just keep it. Somebody somewhere will need it someday.

Somebody put a lot of work into straightening that piece out. Even with repaired damage, its gotta be worth $100 to somebody. I don't think it's worth a lot more, I've sold a few NOS and only got $300 for them.

I'd hang it up in the garage!

That's what I did with an extra nose and fiberglass lower valance.

I need to agree with the lots of different Cars out there. I decent panel is
always better than none, and it will have value to someone. Just be honest
with your description. There are folks that have Cars without one pit in the
chrome, and there are Cars that have pits on all the chrome. Just a matter
of the wants and needs of the owner/builder. Very few 70 to 73 parts are
common. Someone will need it.

As said before it is repoped , so it's value is not more than the cost of the repop. Everyone prefers GM metal to repop but not damaged metal. I would say put it on eBay and Let em bid. That will be your value.

...IF I COULD I would have SR blocks and H.O. exhaust manifolds surrounding me like art...If I were a rich man I would buy every n.o.s part that is out there just to have...and if I had an extra it would go to someone who needs it...aaahh, a boy can still dream cant he?!
