1967 Deluxe Steering Wheel

Has anyone documented an '67 Firebird originally equipped with the Deluxe Steering wheel that contains the transparent (clear) Lucite on the upper half? If so, do you have a build date?

Thanks

I know of one local but I don't know the build date. It is a 67 HO. White with red interior.

I got this wheel out of a 67 Firebird but assumed it was put in out of a G body maybe not. http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=780028

The 67 Firebird 400 I bought in 1985 and sold in 1997 had the transparent upper rim.

VIN 223377U1175XX
The steering wheel code on the build sheet was UA
Date Code on Trim Tag 03B

Thanks guys.

If anyone can add, please do!

Not trying to be a wet blanket, but the pic in post #2 looks like a re-cast. If it IS, having it installed does not a factory wheel make.

My wife's 67 326 HO Bird came with it from the factory. I replaced it with the custom sport wood wheel because it was in very bad shape. I don't know the build date off the top of my head and the car is in storage now, but I'll try to dig in my stuff 'cause I'm pretty sure I have the PHS on that car.

It's an early car, VIN 223377U1014xx and from what I remember, it has the strangest trim tag I've ever seen.

67 Clear Steering Wheel

My 67 Firebird 400 is an original interior car as far as I can tell, with 59k miles, and everything inside look to have never been changed...seats, dash, headliner, carpet, deluxe interior, tilt, remote mirror, AM/FM, hood tach, Tyrol Blue on blue, etc. Early car #7709 and has what appears to be an original steering wheel with the clear top. PHS docs do not have the deluxe wheel or AM/FM circled.
