Checking windshield wiper/washer motor on a 66 GTO

Anybody know how to trouble shoot a windshield wiper motor on a 66 GTO?? Can you run jumper wires from the battery and where do they go. This has 2 speed wipers and windshield washer. Just want to know if the wiper motor is good.
Thanks,
Fred

Fred, I can't help out on testing it but.....

If you do need a replacement, go to NAPA. They will have them, or can get them, and they'll work right out of the box. Stay away from the likes of Auto Zone. I went thru 4 of theirs that were no good. Napa's worked like a charm.

GT182,
Thanks for the heads up.

Is it the original date coded motor?

I'm not sure if it's doable or anyone does, but maybe there's a place to have yours rebuilt Fred. Someone should know.

All I know is that the ones from NAPA are painted as the originals were, and are far less expensive than anywhere else you can get them from. ;) Plus they work the first time right out of the box. :D

Where would be the date code? What numbers would I be looking for?

Date code would be stamped in yellow ink on the side facing the engine compartment. It should be a Julian date such as 343 65 or there is a foil decal on the side nearest the fender that would also have a Julian date for the build. For rebuilding www.WiperWorks.us
