cleaning a switch on my amp
 

hi guys, I have a 100w amp in my gmc. its under my seat, maybe not a great location. anyway, there is a switch that moves it from hi pass to low pass and flat. that switch must have dirt in it cause I have problems with it cutting in and out. then I mess with the switch and it comes back. seems like I remember some spray that will clean the switch without damage. thanks in advance for any help, BLUE TA

Yup, contact cleaner, can get it at any electronic supply store, like Radio Shack. But it kind of depends on the type of switch it is, and the damage/issue.

Amps are so inexpensive, even pretty good ones, if it's old, replace it. If you look at the class D type, they are very compact and efficient, can squeeze those in almost anywhere.

Hey guys, I went to radio shack and found some spray. it has more air than liquid, but it did the trick. I moved the switch to the left and sprayed then to the right and sprayed moved it back and forth then put it on center. let it dry for 5 min. turned on, bingo! sounds great on both channels. thanks for the info, BLUE TA
