glue for those rare plastic engine parts.
 

i snapped off the plastic nipple on my 1972 thermostatic purge valve, can this be glued back on? I was thinking of drilling out the inside and putting a brass sleve inside? I dunno. I have never had good experience gluing this type of plastic, ugh!! that part was hard to find.

Permatex makes special two part glues for plastics but I would still sleve it even after that.

It doesn't work like seen on TV. But, you can get Loctite UV curing glue for a fraction of the price (based on quanity) at places like McMaster-Carr. A bottle with a couple of oz in it ... instead of a microscopic amount... for about $30.

Probably doesn't work well on the poly propolyne those parts are made of.

I have repaired with the brass tube as you have mentioned and it worked fine. I have also used a new plastic glue that is just amazing. It's called Q-bond and bought it at an independent parts store. It's made by Versi-Chem. It is essentially super glue with 2 tubes of powder. One ground plastic dust, one aluminum. You super glue the part 1st, then use the powder to fill and activate with the super glue. I have fixed all kinds of broken tabs on interior parts, door panels, front spoilers, you name it. When it activates it get's hot and actually smokes if the repair is big enough. Kit was about $10.00. On my second kit. http://qbond.net/
