Early model heads in 2nd Gen Alt/Power Steering adapter plate
 

I am in search of a drawing or a pre-fabricated adapter to mount Alt/PS brackets to 70 and earlier heads on 400 in a 2nd Gen T/A.
I had a pdf of a drawing somewhere but have misplaced it over the years. Any help would be much appreciated!
Pretty simple to fab as I recall it was a 1/4" metal plate with a few nuts welded in the correct location and pre-drilled holes to mount adapter plate to earlier model head.

If anyone has a drawing they could post that would be fantastic and much appreciated.

There's a bracket mounting hole "missing" for the alternator/power steering pump on the 670 heads. There was a solution mentioned in the end of the short block chapter in Jim Hand's book if I remember correctly.
Anyone have any info they can share?

I did one on a friends 76 years ago, had 670 heads without the bolt hole. I just welded a nut on the back of the ps bracket. You may have to grind a little off the nut where it is closest to the head. Loosely bolt everything up and adjust the ps belt first, then the alt. Check your belt alignment and go ride.

I think you can turn the long bolt around backwards and put a nut on the outside. You must have all other bolts and brackets mounted, such as the rear alternator bracket. I've never done it, but I have been told it works.

Both of those mentioned above will work. I have done it many times. If you use the bolt facing back out idea, you have to take ps/alt all loose from head to change the alt. in the future. Not a big deal though.
