steering wheel rebuild
any one know who rebuilds stock 1964 gto steering wheels?
|
Koch's....in Acton Calif.
|
I used Koch for my 64 car; it came out very nice. Didn't care for the bill though, but so few doing this.
|
Do you remember how much it was?
|
I think I still have the receipt!
$467 with return shipping. |
I'll second using Koch's. I think it was $425 + they rechromed those little pieces for additional fee. It's a complete remold. They strip it down to the bare frame. No cracks in mine in 3 seasons. Google Koch's Steering Wheel Restorations.

10 week waiting list... might have been longer, but you can't beat the final product for the price. from Koch.

For 1964
goatpusher: I had referenced Koch's and D&D in an earlier post, I believe only last year. There may be more references/info in that post if you can find it (I didn't try to find). Unfortunately, my experience with the Koch repair has not been as positive as others. Within four months of the receipt of one of the repaired wheels I had sent to Koch, it developed severe cracking. The wheel was sent back to Koch, and they repaired it a second time. Fine cracks are again appearing in this repaired wheel. I have not decided what to do with this wheel, although I believe Koch guarantees their repairs for life. |
