Top radiator hose bracket?

Is there any bracket that holds the top radiator hose off of the alternator ? My hose sits right on the wire for the alternator. Just wondering.....

Nothing official. I did see one that must have been home made. It appeared to have a 67 heater hose cup and was secured to the intake on the left side of course. That is all i can remember. It did not look out of place.

No, there was not. It should not rest on alternator.

Actually it should rest on anything. ; Butt.....

Tho without power steering my top hose does hit the alternator bracket. I cut a piece of hose just a bit larger and slipped it over the hose to protect it from rubbing on the bracket.

Loosen the clamp on the water neck and try twisting the hose a little. If that doesn't do the trick. Loosen the radiator end and twist. That's how I got mine off the alternator.

I amend my previous post. It was supposed to say "should not rest on anything". :o

the top hose needs to be trimmed to fit at the right length and twisted so it is not resting on anything. Most hoses are not the right length from the manufacturer for an application as they fit several car bodies \engine combs with alt or PS. Also, over time the original belts have been changed, so alt \ ps are not in the same position as it left the factory.
