Had a Jeep Scrambler that a guy wanted to buy, I took the 63 GP on trade. Not really my thing but it's a tri power, 4 speed so I can play with it for a while.

Wow, that's a lucky trade! If you fix the little things it needs you'll do well when you go to sell.

gary bennett 06-12-2016 04:53 PM

i will take that any day

It IS my thing, and mine's a 389 4bbl automatic - so I hate you.

(not really :D)

At any rate, looks like maybe it's Nocturne Blue with a blue interior? Looks way nicer than my car. I'd go with a little bit thinner white wall but other than that.....

Nice trade.

It is Nocturne Blue with a blue interior. The carpet has been replaced and side panels are original but look great. I'm going to replace the seat covers and the headliner and put a new set of tires on it. As somebody said, I'll put narrower whitewalls on it. Might put a set of 850x14 bias ply tires on it. Probably do all that and then sell it

Nice trade!

That's what i did 6 years ago. Told my wife it just sits in the garage, I'm putting tires on it and selling it. I need to call coker again, for some reason the rear tires are smooth, the tread must have vanished as a defect. Put those 850x14's on it and I dare you to sell it, that's what made me keep mine. Nice find tho, please post on here when you are ready to unload that undesirable thing.

So he traded that in on a jeep. Sucker born every day.

I doubt Coker's warrantee will cover the smooth tires.

Some more pictures, the rear panel is really nice as are the door and side panels. Needs seat covers and the steering wheel is cracked.

Repop seat covers are crap IMO. If the inserts are good... call SMS for the outer smooth vinyl and repair what you have.

I assume it is the original shifter but I really don't know.

I agree with keeping the original covers. Just my 2 cents but if those are the original seat covers I'd leave them on the car and maybe repair as needed. They look pretty decent in the pictures.

Thanks for the advise on the seat covers. The drivers bucket seat has some wear but no holes or tears. The passengers side bucket looks great but the back seat is just shot along the top by the package shelf from the sun coming through the rear window. I guess it could be repaired

Nice car. '63 GP is the prettiest one made IMO.

YES it can. If you don't know of any near you, ask other car guys for recommendations to an upholstery shop.

real61ss 07-02-2016 01:14 PM

I got the PHS doc's today and the car is a factory built 4 speed. Also highlighted under the engine " 06B spec. Police ". I'm not sure what that is.
