Door edge guard molding Q

I want to install a nice NOS pair of door edge guards on my Esprit. Is there a guaranteed way to snap them on without chipping the paint? I'm imagining that 44 year old lacquer is about as brittle as it can be.

I think this is a one way street...

I purchased an NOS set for #202. I gently used a flat blade screw driver to slightly open them up until they slid on the doors.

Good luck!
Jim

Coating the portion of the door the molding will slide over with Vaseline will help.

When working at the Pontiac dealership and the low man ( youngest) on the totem pole, I got "gifted" this cheap option often offered to customers by sales as a freebie ( only 3-4 bucks when new) . I hated it then, hate it now. I would use a putty knife to slightly spread them and some waterproof grease in the grove. I scratched a few cars when new... good luck...

Anyone have a NOS pass side door edge molding for sale?

71-81 I have a 70 but the car isn't a numbers car so I just need the pass side vertical ss trim on the door end.
