Rear Seat Bottom Installation
I completely understand the concept of pushing the bottom seat cushion rearward until it snaps into the hooks on the floor, but I've been going at it for an hour now and cannot get it installed. The cushion has new upholstery so I really don't want to hit it with a mallet. Has anyone come up with a good method to apply enough force to get the seat bottom to snap in place?

Check that the seat belts aren't interfering and also make sure that the shape of the catching bar on the seat bottom is not bent or that padding is not blocking it. Make sure the catches on the floor are not bent or distorted. If all that is good and it still wont catch you may want to check if the bottom of the seat back or the back of the seat bottom are over padded (some upholstery guys are a bit too generous with padding) and there is not enough room for the seat bottom to go all the way in.
Another option but a PITA is to remove the seat so you can push the seat in with your legs. |
