PHS Question

Hi guys,

I was looking through my PHS today and noticed the car came with F70/14 redlines. Since there are no wheels highlighted, were redlines used with hubcaps in 68? If so, does anyone have a pic of the look?

Thanks

Redline's with Wheel Disc/ Hupcaps

Now that's something seldom seen, so I was wondering myself.
Since no wheel Disc/cover is highlighted I think it would likely just have come with the base Poverty/ Dog Dish caps.
I found only 1 '68 with Red Lines and factory optional Hubcaps, and have to say it does look good. Nice to see something besides Rally's.

ponchjoe, were they F70x14 or G70x14? The F70 was Firebird, the G70 was GTO. And yes, if wheels were not selected, they came with standard dog dishes.

If this is for a 1968 GTO, the options were:

Dog Dish (standard)
Wheel Discs-Custom
Wheel Discs-Deluxe
Wheel Discs-Wire
Rally I wheels
Rally II Wheels

In the photo Jeff posted above, those are the Wheel Discs-Deluxe.

I'll go back and look again but thought they had marked Red F70-14

G70-14 and nothing specified so redlines and Poverty caps, cool!

Very unique mix of options, I guess he needed the A/C to dry off the sweat from restling that steering wheel ;-)

A good portion of cars sold with dogdish were probably slated to receive aftermarket wheels and the owner didn't want to waste money on factory hubcaps.

Lol-
Since it was sold in Phoenix you are probably right. I'm lazy, it now has the grand Cherokee steering upgrade and had a booster on it when I got it...

FWIW (and I occasionally post this cuz I think it's fabulous trivia), but poverty caps are hubcaps. What you see in the top green car pic are wheelcovers - there is a difference between hubcap and wheelcovers.

WELL if you really want to be trivial the Factory refers to them as WHEEL DISC not Covers
:fencing:

;)

I know you're being facetious, but I learned it from Wangers, so I have to spread the word. :-)
