Splatter paint cover

I used Dupli color splatter paint in the trunk of the 69 GTO to freshen it up. Should I use a Dupli color clear to cover it with, or is any brand ok. Should it be a satin clear or other?
Thanks.

I used the dupli clear on the GTOs and they look fine.

The factory didn't clear them so its personal preference. I would use satin so it looks more factory but thats just me...

I've used it before with good results - did not clear it afterwards however. I always give the trunk a black base coat before using the spatter paint - comes out nicer.

Chris,

Do you use flat, semi, or gloss?

Thanks
Joe

The base was a black primer, don't remember if there was a gloss option on the spatter.

I'm on vacation right now in FL, but will try and post a few pics on 1 August when I get back. I haven't put the clear on yet, I'll get pics of before and after and post them.

I did mine the same way. The spatter goes a lot further over black. I used flat black paint, then spatter and coated with satin clear. It doesn't matter about the black probably since the clear is going to determine the final finish gloss.
